Library Regulations
The Library provides a range of different study environments in the new building, users should be aware the following internal regulations:
LEVEL 0 – Entrance
RECEPTION DESK
- Book a group study room
- Borrowing
- Room self-booking system management
- Photocopy and printout payments
- IT Support helpdesk
While using this area:
- You can use the refreshments area, with drinks and snacks machine located in front of the Reception Desk, until Coffee Shop Area opening
- Do not make noise in order to disturb other users and use this area exclusively for the above mentioned purposes
- Respect users and staff.
EXHIBITION JOURNALS AREA
- Use this area for consulting journals latest arrivals to Library
While using this area: - You can't take journals to other areas of the Library
- Do not change the layout of the furniture and smoking
- Individual consultation
COFFEE SHOP AREA
- Area for eating and drinking
While using this area: - Avoid talking loudly in order to harass other users
- Do not change the layout of the furniture and smoking
- Respect users and staff
LEVEL -1
STUDY GROUP ROOMS
While using this area:
- Talk in a low tone to exchange ideas.
- Use of mobile phone in silent tone.
- Do not eat or drink (only water is acceptable if the water is in a sealable bottle).
- The room should be clean when you leave it.
COMPUTER & LEARNING SUPPORT ROOM
- Use computers for study only.
- Do not use mobile phones in this area, you may disturb other library users.
- Do not change the layout of the furniture and smoking.
- Do not eat or drink (only water is acceptable if the water is in a sealable bottle).
- The room should be clean when you leave it.
- The use of the research room in the period of examinations or special periods of study is prohibited to external users
- Respect users and staff.
LEVEL -2
READING ROOM
- Silent area
- Individual study
- Do not use mobile phones in silent study areas
- Do not eat or drink (only water is acceptable if the water is in a sealable bottle).
- Do not change the layout of the furniture and smoking.
- The room should be clean when you leave it.
- Respect users and staff.
You should notice that:
- If you are caught in abusive behavior, eating or drinking in the Library you will receive a verbal warning under the Library Regulations, if you commit further offences or misconduct, you may receive a formal written warning and will have library disciplinary penalties (a week, a month period without requesting books or study rooms, according the offences).
- The Library is not responsible for forgetfulness, loss or damage to personal belongings and reserves the right to remove them from the tables and dispose of property unclaimed.
- If there is an accident or incident in the Library, please report it to a member of the Library Staff or the Security staff.
- If an alarm sounds, staff will make an announcement asking you to leave the building.
- Please follow these action points: 1 -stop what you are doing immediately ; 2-leave the building quickly and calmly by the nearest emergency exit, using the stairs, 3- Stay nearer in a security area and don't re-enter the building until the order has been given by Library staff.
- The Library don't copy books and other materials, according Copyright Rules.
- Group visits must be requested in advance.
- Users with disabilities should request the support of the staff.
- Library and security staff may request user identification.
- Photos and other video, audio records on the library aren't allowed, without further authorization.
