Harvard Medical School Portugal Clinical Scholars Research Training (PTCSRT)
We are pleased to announce the call for Harvard Medical School’s 2018-2020 Portugal Clinical Scholars Research Training (PTCSRT) Certificate Program.
Now in its seventh year, PTCSRT is a two-year certificate program designed to provide in depth training in the theory and skills that are necessary to forge a successful career in clinical research. The PTCSRT program is fully supported by the Portuguese Government through FCT and is tuition free for accepted students. PTCSRT is intended for Portuguese medical residents and fellows and is conducted exclusively in English.
The program begins with our first workshop in Lisbon on 9th February 2018 and will include instruction in the epidemiological and biostatistical methods used in observational and experimental clinical research, as well as training in the oral and written forms of scientific communication. The subsequent curriculum includes seven mandatory intensive 2-day workshops over the two year curriculum, twice-weekly online recorded lectures, development and presentation of two Capstone proposals, working in teams, and satisfactory completion of all assessments. All activities are supported by interactive webinars held by Harvard faculty.
The dates for the upcoming four (4) workshops are:
• February 9th-11th, 2018 (Lisbon)
• June 8th-9th, 2018 (Coimbra)
• September 7th-8th, 2018 (Porto)
• February 8th-10th, 2019 (Lisbon)
We invite you to identify Residents and Fellows who would benefit from this exciting Program. Enrolment of your residents/fellows in this program represents an investment on the part of your institution, as students will return with new skills, collaborative opportunities and ideas on how to advance research and patient care.
The application deadline for the PTCSRT Program is 12th December 2017. Please consider forwarding this letter to all the Heads of Departments, Hospital Directors, and Public Affairs Departments at your institution and anyone that might be interested in participating.
