NOVA Medical School has launched the Junior Academy, a new educational initiative designed for students who wish to explore the field of Health before entering higher education. The initiative debuts with two programmes – MED_DECODE and the Junior Doctor Bootcamp – with their first editions starting in September.
The Junior Academy aims to inspire future vocations, promote health literacy, and provide young people with hands-on learning experiences that bridge the gap between theory and practice, even before they begin university.
MED_DECODE is a 25-week online program that challenges participants to solve clinical cases, developing skills in clinical reasoning, health literacy, and scientific thinking, with guidance from NOVA Medical School tutors.
The Junior Doctor Bootcamp, on the other hand, offers a three-day in-person, immersive experience during which participants have the opportunity to engage with different areas of medical practice through activities such as clinical simulation, anatomy, ultrasound, Basic Life Support, and other hands-on workshops.
With this initiative, NOVA Medical School reinforces its commitment to promoting health education and introducing young people to medical education and the health professions.
Registration for the sessions, which begin in September, is now open, and spots are limited.
