On March 26, NOVA Medical School, in partnership with the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), is promoting the event “Women in Leadership in Innovation and Industrial Property,” dedicated to reflecting on the role of women as leaders and agents of transformation in the ecosystems of science, technology, industry, and public policy.
The meeting will bring together institutional leaders and experts from different sectors to discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with women participation and leadership in innovation systems, as well as the role of industrial property in creating scientific, economic, and social impact.
The program includes a keynote speech by NOVA Vice-Rector Isabel Rocha, a presentation on “Gender inequality in the European innovation ecosystem” by Ilja Rudyk, Senior Economist at the European Patent Office (EPO), and a roundtable discussion with representatives from industry, the European innovation ecosystem, and technology commercialization.
The debate will focus on the dynamics of women leadership, critical decision-making moments in innovation processes, and the role of industrial property as a strategic tool for promoting more inclusive, competitive, and impact-oriented innovation systems.
The session aims to foster an informed, evidence-based, and impact-oriented discussion on leadership, participation, and structural change in innovation processes.
