"Mexer Contra o Cancro" (Move Against Cancer) is an event organized by the Portuguese League Against Cancer. Its goal is to promote physical activity as a cornerstone of a healthy lifestyle — which is so important in cancer prevention — and to to support scientific research projects in Portugal.
On May 9, at the Jamor Sports Complex, there will be a variety of physical and recreational activities for all ages and interests. It’s a day to enjoy with the family while raising awareness about cancer prevention in a fun way.
NOVA Medical School is joining this initiative with a dedicated program:
- 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM | Hands-on workshop on strategies to minimize the impact of cancer symptoms, led by the Community Outreach Service team
- 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM | Science activities exploring various research topics in the field of cancer, featuring laboratories that received Oncology Research Grants from the Portuguese League Against Cancer in 2025 and 2026
