NOVA Medical School expresses its deepest condolences on the passing of Dr. Barros Veloso, a nationally and internationally renowned physician.
Dr. Barros Veloso was a co-opted member of the Faculty Council between 2013 and 2019, a collaboration for which NOVA Medical School will be eternally grateful.
He received an honorary doctorate from NOVA in 2018, an honor bestowed upon him for his contribution to the development of medicine in Portugal, but also for his versatility in other areas, particularly music.
Dr. Barros Veloso's wake will be held today at the Carnide cemetery in Lisbon, and the funeral will take place tomorrow, December 3.
The Board, on behalf of the entire NOVA Medical School community, extends its heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
