NOVA Medical School hosted another edition of the Nutrition Shark Tank, an initiative that challenges undergraduate Nutrition Sciences students to develop innovative solutions to real-world issues in nutrition and public health. The fifth edition once again showcased the finalists' creativity, scientific rigor, and communication skills.

The Best Pitch Award was presented to the project Em Dois Tempos, developed by Nutrition Sciences finalists Maria do Rosário Gonçalves, Rita Ângelo, and Mariana Orsi from NOVA Medical School. The project offers a practical solution to help families prepare healthy meals by adapting recipes and cooking methods to the time available, encouraging balanced food choices even within demanding daily routines.

Alongside the winning project, the finalists also presented the pitches HidraQ, Integral, Histórias à Mesa, and SciProof.

The event also featured the panel discussion "360º Health: A Shared Agenda — Leadership, Prevention, and Community Impact," bringing together experts Ana Moita Macedo (NOVA Medical School), Pedro Pita Barros (NOVA SBE), Eduardo Batista Correia (Taguspark), and Bárbara Carvalho (Cascais City Council) to discuss the role of healthcare institutions, science, and local communities in promoting healthy lifestyles and preventing disease.

More than a competition, the Nutrition Shark Tank is a skills development platform that fosters communication, critical thinking, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and direct engagement with real-world challenges. Through this experience, students gain exposure to professional environments, test their ideas, and develop solutions with meaningful social impact.
