NMS researcher is a newly appointed member of the Scientific Council for Life and Health Sciences

João Conde, principal investigator at NMS, was invited to be one of the new members of the Scientific Council for Life and Health Sciences of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia.

João Conde and the other members of this Scientific Council were invited to join this group of scientists for having a professional career and scientific merit recognized by their peers and the academic community. The role of the Scientific Councils of the FCT - Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia is to provide strategic advice and recommendations on the development, implementation and modification of programs to support science and technology.

For João Conde joining the Scientific Council for Life and Health Sciences "is a privilege that means recognition of the work that the our research group has developed and the opportunity to be able to give voice to scientists who work to bring the science that does in Portugal at the highest level". In addition, the NMS researcher added that "it will also allow to identify emerging areas of scientific interest and serve as an ambassador of science at national and international level".

This team met for the first time on April 19, when the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Professor Elvira Fortunato, designated the members of the Council.
