NOVA Medical School signs protocol with the municipality of Alenquer

This protocol aims to promote joint health promotion activities and projects. NOVA Medical School and the municipality of Alenquer signed a protocol within the scope of the local health plan, which aims to develop joint projects and activities, of a clinical and pedagogical nature, with the purpose of promoting health.

The objectives of this protocol include the creation of a childhood obesity prevention program; the creation of a health promotion program at work; health promotion for the elderly; and also the creation of a training academy for interns in the specialty of general and family medicine, which provides access for interns to postgraduate NMS training at a more accessible cost.

At the signing ceremony of this protocol, Helena Canhão, dean of NOVA Medical School, highlighted the importance of the actions foreseen in this protocol in a logic of prevention, training, enhancement of skills and also in promoting the health of the population, one of the main objectives of this collaboration. She also reinforced NMS's commitment to help promote health and well-being in the municipality of Alenquer, in pursuit of a healthier and happier municipality.

Representatives of the Administração Regional de Saúde de Lisboa e Vale do Tejo (ARSLVT), ACeS Estuário do Tejo e da Unidade de Saúde Familiar (USF)  also participated in the signing ceremony of this protocol.
