Research Support Services
NOVA Medical School Librabry offers several research support services.
Love Data Week 2026
For the second year, the NMS Library is joining LOVE DATA WEEK, an international initiative dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of managing, sharing, preserving, and reusing research data. During this week, various academic institutions and research centres promote capacity-building and the development of good research data management (RDM) practices through free training sessions and events.
This year’s theme, “Where is the data?”, challenges us to reflect on the data life cycle—how we organise data and make it visible and reusable.
The
NMS Library will host an
introductory webinar on RDM on Tuesday, 10 February, from 12:00 to 13:00 (via Teams). The session will be held in Portuguese. Participation is free of charge but requires mandatory registration via the following
form.
Love Methods Week 2026
LOVE METHODS WEEK is an annual international initiative coordinated by the Berlin Institute of Health (BIH) - Charité, with other institutions, which aims to promote transparency, reproducibility and responsible research practices.
NOVA Medical School Library is joining this initiative by promoting a series of free online workshops and webinars which will take place during the week of 19th to 23rd January to encourage researchers to develop and share quality research methods.
You can also view the full programme at Love Methods Week 2026.

INTERNATIONAL OPEN ACCESS WEEK 2025 WEBINARS
NMS Library is joining this initiative by hosting two webinars:
21st October: Open Access Publishing: Transformative Agreements and Predatory Practices
23rd October: The Essentials on Research Data Management
The webinars will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.
They are aimed at the entire NMS community, but registration is
required.
RESEARCH/PUBLICATION SUPPORT WEBINARS
‘From research question to publication’
In 2025, NMS Library is again organizing three research/publication support webinars under the motto: ‘From the research question to publication’.

RESEARCH DATA MANAGEMENT
Management and sharing of research data is one of the essential dimensions of Open Science. Data is becoming increasingly central to current research processes, so its management, enabling subsequent verification and reuse, is a critical element for the quality and reliability of science.
The main funding bodies around the world have been adopting policies and defining requirements and procedures for data management and sharing. These policies and mandates are based not only on the concern to reduce costs associated with data collection, avoiding duplication, but also on aspects related to the reproducibility of research.
NOVA Medical School Library is now starting to work on this dimension by joining the international LOVE DATA WEEK 2025 initiative.
