The auditorium of the Rectory of the University of Lisbon was filled to mark this unique moment in the lives of the students, their families, teachers and staff.

The ceremony marked the end of a demanding cycle and the beginning of a new stage for the students of the Integrated Master's Degree in Medicine, the Bachelor's Degree in Nutritional Sciences and the various Master's Degrees at NOVA Medical School.

The solemn entrance of the Academic Parade, to the sound of the Academic Anthem sung by the NOVA Choir, marked the beginning of the ceremony, which was officially opened by the Vice-Rector of NOVA University Lisbon, Professor João Amaro de Matos. This was followed by a speech by Professor Nuno Neuparth, Vice Dean of NOVA Medical School, representing the School's Board of Directors.

The President of the Students' Association, Diogo Oliveira, emotionally recalled the students' journey, and Dr Margarida Santos, General Practitioner and alumna of NOVA Medical School, spoke words of inspiration to the recent graduates, sharing advice for the future.

The representatives of the finalists also took to the stage for some remarkable speeches: Tomás Barra, from the Integrated Master's Degree in Medicine, and Mariana Matias, from the Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition Sciences, shared heartfelt reflections on their academic journey and cast confident glances towards the future.

The highlight of the ceremony was the solemn presentation of the certificates of completion to the finalists of the three study cycles: Degree in Nutrition Sciences, Integrated Master's Degree in Medicine and Master's Degrees in Clinical Research Management, Medical Microbiology and Human Nutrition and Metabolism.

The Tuna Médica de Lisboa brought animation and tradition to the stage with a vibrant performance, infecting the audience with joy and academic spirit.

The symbolic closing of the ceremony culminated in the traditional throwing of ribbons into the air - a collective gesture of celebration that symbolises the end of a chapter and the beginning of a new journey.

NOVA Medical School warmly congratulates all its 2025 graduates. This moment marks not only the conclusion of a training programme, but also the start of a professional career based on knowledge, dedication and the human values that guide the School's mission: to train professionals of excellence, capable of transforming society.
