Paulo Gameiro

Researcher Investigador Principal
Principal Investigator

Paulo Gameiro became deeply curious about metabolism and evolution early on, when learning that cells rely on small molecules to sustain life in a remarkably regulated and conserved manner. This led him to study biochemistry, and later central carbon metabolism, RNA biology and mitochondria. His group uses bottom-up approaches to integrate metabolic components and their interactions, aiming to understand mitochondrial pathophysiology from the ground up.
