NOVA Medical School, NEST, Turismo de Portugal and Médicos do Mundo sign a collaboration protocol to help in the response to the humanitarian catastrophe as a result of the War in Ukraine, in an initiative based on the collaborative intelligence center NEST HaT Lab @ NOVA Medical School.
Within the scope of Lisbon Travel Market , the event “What’s Next – Innovating Tourism” promoted several thematic sessions, to which speakers outside the sector were invited and with the aim of broadening the debate on the future of tourism in its various aspects.
We highlight the session that took place at NOVA Medical School, on March 17, for which NEST invited Maria de Belém Roseira and Germano de Sousa to discuss the Impact of Health on Tourism.
“What's Next – Innovating Tourism” was also the stage for the presentation of the collaboration protocol between NOVA Medical School, NEST, Turismo de Portugal and Médicos do Mundo to help in the response to the humanitarian catastrophe as a result of the War in Ukraine , in an initiative based on the collaborative intelligence center “NEST HaT Lab @ NOVA Medical School”.
In the document, these entities undertake, under the scientific-strategy coordination of the NEST HaT: Health and Tourism lab of NOVA Medical School, to initiate cooperation efforts, leading to the ideation of models of response to the humanitarian crisis emerging from the conflict in Ukraine, contributing with the specialized knowledge in the respective competences.
The mobility of people is one of the most relevant and urgent variables in the situation in Ukraine, so the know-how and solutions developed in the field of tourism can prove to be particularly useful for efforts to support refugees from this conflict.
The NEST HaT:Health and Tourism Lab @ NOVA Medical School is a collaborative intelligence laboratory for Health and Tourism, developed by NEST - Tourism Innovation Center and the exponential medicine unit of NOVA Medical School, which focuses on Health , Sustainability and Digital Transformation for more resilient communities, contributing to the qualification of a Safe, Healthy and Sustainable territory.
