The REFRAME OBESITY Program is a joint initiative of NOVA Medical School, the Portuguese Association of General and Family Medicine (APMGF), and Lilly Portugal, created to promote a sustainable transformation in the approach to and management of obesity in primary health care.
Recognizing obesity as a chronic, complex, heterogeneous, and multifactorial disease with a significant impact on people’s health and the sustainability of health care systems, the program reinforces the role of primary care as the first point of contact and a central element in prevention, early identification, assessment, treatment, long-term follow-up, and coordination of care.
