Biobanks in Health Research: Driving Innovation & Impact

NOVA Medical School, in collaboration with the European project Extracellular Vesicles in Clinical Applications (EVCA) and the Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine (GIMM), invites you to participate in the event "Biobanks in Health Research: Driving Innovation & Impact".

This initiative will take place on June 17th, 2025, at the NOVA Medical School premises in Lisbon, and is organized as part of the EATRIS Spotlight Programme 2025 - Portugal, which aims to highlight EATRIS institutions across various countries.

The event aims to explore the critical role of biobanks in advancing biomedical and clinical research, addressing current challenges, opportunities, and innovative solutions. Through presentations and roundtable discussions with national and international experts, the event will offer discussions on key topics:

  • Ethical, legal, and operational complexities of biobanking;
  • Strategies to enhance data value using artificial intelligence and FAIR principles;
  • Design and implementation of international multicentric clinical trials, and patient engagement in clinical research.
