NOVA Medical School will launch a new edition of the Health Policy Course Unit and, as in the previous year, it will be open to all undergraduate students in the health field in Portugal. This is the first Course Unit at the national level that brings together students of Medicine and Nutrition, with the aim of responding to the major challenges of health system organization and management.
The course structure is based on an innovative teaching and learning model, based on interactive seminars, which will be held remotely, with the participation of national and international decision-makers and leaders. Through contact with guest speakers, students will be challenged to critically analyze national and international healthcare delivery and organization systems, reflecting on solutions and best practices applicable to different contexts.
The coordination of the Curricular Unit will be led by Professor Francisco Goiana da Silva, Vice-President of SWORD Health and former member of the Executive Board of the National Health Service, and Professor Alexandra Bento, Head of the Department of Food and Nutrition at the National Institute of Health Dr. Ricardo Jorge. The teaching team also includes Alexandre Rodrigues, nutritionist and teaching assistant at NOVA Medical School.
