The 8th edition of the Master's degree programme in Human Nutrition and Metabolism at NOVA Medical School, coordinated by Professors Conceição Calhau and Diana Teixeira, began today.
All places were filled through a competitive selection process, which brought together national and international candidates from different scientific fields. Around 40% of the new intake are international students from countries such as Brazil, Colombia and Nigeria, which highlights the programme's growing global appeal. Those admitted include recent graduates and established professionals from fields such as medicine, nutrition, biochemistry, food engineering, and biomedical sciences, among others.
For the first time, NOVA Medical School is running two editions of the Master's degree simultaneously, reflecting recognition of the programme's quality and increased demand.
This year, the curriculum features four new courses: Metabolism and Nutrition, Nutritional Neuroscience, Integrated Approach to Research and Leadership in Health. The latter was developed in partnership with NOVA School of Business and Economics (NOVA SBE).
Through these new courses, NOVA Medical School is reinforcing its commitment to providing innovative, multidisciplinary training in response to emerging challenges in nutrition and metabolism.
