Full professor and coordinator of the curricular unit Behavioural Medicine (Integrated Master of Medicine) at NOVA Medical School. Principal Investigator – NOVA Medical School; investigator at the CHRC.

Member of INTERDEM (early and timely INTERventions in DEMentia, the European network of dementia care researchers) and of the Portuguese Society of Family Therapy.

Main scientific interests: caregiving issues and family interventions; mental health of older people and geriatric psychiatry; psychiatric epidemiology; mental health services research; behavioural medicine; medical education.
