NOVA Medical School is present at the 2023 edition of the European Researchers' Night

03-Oct-2023

More than 30 students and researchers from NOVA Medical School (NMS) celebrate the European Researchers' Night (ERN), on the night of September 29th, 2023, with activities in three locations in Lisbon, the National Museum of Natural History and Science (MUHNAC) , the Pavilhão do Conhecimento and the Champalimaud Foundation.

On biggest european night of science outreach, our students and researchers played a fundamental role in the success of the school's activities. At MUHNAC, visitors had the opportunity to explore what happens to biomedical research waste and participate and attend an open conversation about gender equality in research, with the presence of guests from FCSH and ScidoArmário. At the same time, in the Pavilhão do Conhecimento, we presented practical experiences and demonstrations combining science and food. Finally, at the Champalimaud Foundation, those who visited our exhibits could understand more about how the brain works, how we study it and discover the brain's relationship with sleep or food choices, through games and lively discussions, on a night lit by the last Supermoon of the year.

The extensive participation of NMS in the three locations in the capital where ERN2023 took place demonstrates the school's commitment to engaging with the community and promoting a sustainable future through research and innovation.

The European Researchers' Night is an initiative of the European Commission, supported by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Program, which takes place annually on the last Friday of September simultaneously in multiple European cities. With the aim of bringing researchers and science closer to citizens, in the 2022/2023 biennium, it celebrates the theme "Science for All (SCIEVER) - Inclusion and Sustainability".
