The application is made exclusively online.


Candidates must access the link https://candidaturas.nms.unl.pt/cssnet-nms/page and fill in all fields;

The application process, in addition to completing the online form, must be accompanied by the following documents:
A. Simple photocopy of the personal identification document or passport, which expressly states the candidate's nationality;
B. Declaration, under oath, that the candidate does not have Portuguese nationality, nor is he covered by any of the situations listed in paragraphs a) to f) of the 'Recipients' topic in this public notice (available here);
C. Document (certificate or diploma) attesting to the level of knowledge of the Portuguese language, as applicable;
D. Portuguese secondary education diploma or legally equivalent qualification, when applicable;
E. Diploma or certificate issued by a competent authority attesting to the approval of a teaching program and granting the holder the right to apply for and enter higher education in the country where it was obtained;
F. Copy of documents proving the classifications obtained: 1) In Portuguese entrance exams, for holders of Portuguese secondary education or equivalent; 2) In national exams for access to higher education, in a foreign country; 3) In the specific academic qualification tests, provided for in points ii. and iii. of item b) of the Admission Conditions, of this Public Notice.
G. Residence certificate issued by an official entity of the country where the candidate is domiciled;
H. Payment of the application fee through the ATM references that will appear during the application process.

Portuguese

International students are all those who do not have Portuguese nationality and who cumulatively do not fall into any of the following categories: 

a) Foreign nationals of a Member State of the European Union; 


b) Those who, not being foreign nationals of a Member State of the European Union, and not being covered by the preceding post, have been legally resident in Portugal for more than two years, uninterruptedly, on the 1st January of the year in which they wish to enter the Faculdade de Ciências Médicas | NOVA Medical School;


c) Those who apply admission to Faculdade de Ciências Médicas | NOVA Medical School through the special access and entry regimes regulated by Decree-Law no. 393-B/99, of the 2nd October, amended by Decree-Law no. 272/2009, of the 1st October;


d) Those who are attending the Faculdade de Ciências Médicas | NOVA Medical School under an international mobility program to carry out part of a study cycle of a foreign higher education institution with which the Faculdade de Ciências Médicas | NOVA Medical School has established an exchange agreement for this purpose;


e) The relative members of Portuguese or foreign nationals of a Member State of the European Union, regardless of their nationality, in accordance with Law no. 37/2006, of 9th August; 


f) Those who benefit, on the 1st January in the year they wish to try to enter the Faculdade de Ciências Médicas | NOVA Medical School, of equal rights and duties granted under an international treaty granted between the Portuguese State and the State of which they are nationals; 

You can also request the application of the status of international student who is in an emergency for humanitarian reasons.

Notice: Students who enter higher education under this contest will remain international students until the end of the course in which they initially enrolled or for which they will transit, even if, during their course of study, they will be granted equal status in terms of rights and duties, unless in the meantime they acquire the nationality of a Member State of the European Union. The cessation of the application of international student status as a result of the above shall take effect in the school year following the date on which nationality is acquired.

International students can apply for registration and enrollment in the first cycle of studies:

a) Holders of a qualification, understood as any diploma or certificate issued by a competent authority that, in the country in which it was obtained, grants them the right to apply for and enter higher education in that country;
b)    Holders of a Portuguese secondary education diploma or legally equivalent qualification.

The following are concrete conditions for admission to the 1st cycle of studies in Nutrition Sciences:

1. Verification of the specific academic qualification for entry into the study cycle for which you are applying:
a) When the candidate holds a Portuguese secondary education course, this verification will focus on passing the two entrance exams defined for the Degree in Nutrition Sciences at this Faculty: 02 Biology and Geology g_ 07 Physics and Chemistry;
b) When the candidate does not hold national exams, the specific academic qualification may report on one of three situations:
i. Have taken national tests in Biology and Chemistry for admission to higher education in the country of origin;
ii.Have taken final exams in Biology and Chemistry subjects from foreign secondary education;
iii.Have attended and obtained approval in the subjects of Biology g_ of Chemistry of foreign secondary education, as long as it is proven. through an official document, that the candidate is able to access and enter higher education in the country of origin.
c) When the candidate holds a Brazilian secondary education course, and whenever applicable, this demonstration corresponds to approval in the area of ​​Natural Sciences and its Technologies in the National Medical Education Exam (ENEM).

2. Verification of knowledge of the Portuguese language: candidates from education systems not taught in Portuguese must present certification of knowledge in Portuguese, oral and written skills, through a certificate issued by a competent entity in their country of origin. Candidates who do not present this certification of knowledge in the application process will be strictly excluded;

For candidates who compete with the (National High School Exam) ENEM tests:
- Only candidates with a classification in the ENEM knowledge area “Natural Sciences and Technologies” (NST) equal to or greater than 100 points may be admitted, after conversion to the Portuguese scale of ratings (0 to 200 points) using the following formula:

ENEM C = Classification obtained in the NST knowledge area x 200/1000

ENEM C – Classification obtained in the knowledge area of NST after conversion to the Portuguese scale of ratings (0 to 200 points)
